When I was ordained into the ministry 28 years ago, there seemed to be at least a modicum of Biblical understanding among most people, even if they weren’t people of faith or church attenders. However, today, according to Christian and secular researchers and in my personal experience, most young people possess no belief system or knowledge of the Word of God. They are, in essence, blank slates, spiritually speaking. Thus, we have an enormous mission field in our midst and there’s much work to do for the kingdom of God before Christ returns for His own.
Therefore, we must, at every opportunity, share what Jesus has done in our lives with a lost and dying world. Ask the Lord of the harvest to use you for His glory and to present you with opportunities to share the Gospel with individuals, and He certainly will!
Then He *said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, plead with the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38)
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
