Somebody asked why I was such a “fanatic” for Jesus? It doesn’t take long to respond. It’s because He literally saved me from my own stupidity and sinfulness. At one time I was a fanatical anti-Christian which broke my mother’s heart, because she raised me right and in the Church. But I didn’t care because I was fanatical about and obsessed with becoming a rich and famous actor in the theatre and television industries while living in Hollywood. During that time of life, immorality and addiction to all sorts of illegal drugs pulled me down into a gutter of drug abuse, degradation and sin but it was Jesus Christ who rescued me from several instances of overdose. Sometimes those of us who were considered “lost causes” have to fall down very hard and flat on our back before we finally look up and cry out to God for help.
My cry for help was miraculously answered in 1988 by the Lord Jesus in a very profound and personal way and since then, my life has never been the same. Though I had mocked, renounced, and even denied Him, He picked me up and washed me clean and my life has never been the same since that day. So, yes, you can call me fanatical and also count me among the countless other fanatics who have been saved, delivered, healed, and transformed by the precious blood of Christ!
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
What He’s done for a “lost cause” like me, Jesus can do for you or for those loved ones you’re praying for who are running from God. Don’t become despondent or give up. Only believe!
Romans 10:8-10
“But what does it say? ‘The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart’ (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
